Unlike proprietary consumer smart home ecosystems that stream behavioral data and camera feeds to overseas clouds, SmartHomeAssist.ae deploys 100% local-protocol automation. Your automations, sensor events, camera streams, and presence tracking execute strictly within your home server. We do not sell, monetize, or harvest your private domestic telemetry.
1. Scope & Jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, and protection of personal data by SmartHomeAssist FZ-LLC ("SmartHomeAssist", "we", "us", or "our") when you interact with smarthomeassist.ae, book an engineering audit, or commission our integration services across the United Arab Emirates.
Our data practices strictly comply with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL) and applicable emirate-level regulations.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect personal information that you voluntarily submit when requesting an engineering consultation or audit:
- Contact Credentials: Full name, telephone/WhatsApp number, email address.
- Property Metadata: Emirate (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, etc.), community name, estimated built-up square footage, property type, and construction status.
- Diagnostic Information: On-site notes regarding low-voltage cabinet layouts, HVAC fan coil unit (FCU) voltages, and Wi-Fi/RF attenuation measurements collected during scheduled on-site audits.
3. Purpose of Processing
Your data is processed strictly for the following purposes:
- Calculating transparent diagnostic fees and scheduling certified engineering audits.
- Direct engineer-to-client coordination via phone or WhatsApp.
- Generating customized architectural engineering proposals, bill of materials (BOM), and utility reduction projections.
- Fulfilling legal, tax, and invoicing requirements under UAE commercial law.
4. Your Domestic Smart Home Data
Once our hardware is commissioned in your residence:
- All sensor logs, lighting states, door locks, and climate schedules reside exclusively on your physical Home Assistant server within your home.
- We do not retain remote administrative credentials unless you explicitly purchase an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) with designated remote SLA monitoring.
- You possess 100% ownership and administrative control over your local encryption keys, credentials, and network credentials.
5. Data Retention & Security
Contact and inquiry records are retained for the duration of our commercial relationship or as required by UAE statutory accounting laws. Diagnostic records for uncommissioned inquiries are purged within 12 months upon request. All electronic submissions are transmitted over 256-bit TLS encrypted channels.
6. Your Rights Under UAE PDPL
Under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, you have the right to access, rectify, restrict, or request the deletion of your personal contact data held by SmartHomeAssist. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@smarthomeassist.ae.
