Terms of Service

1. Scope of Engineering Audit

An Engineering Audit performed by SmartHomeAssist FZ-LLC comprises an instrumental on-site evaluation of the client's residential premises. The audit includes:

• RF spectrum analysis and concrete mesh attenuation mapping (Matter/Zigbee).
• Low-voltage distribution board (DB) inspection and neutral wire availability verification.
• 230V Fan Coil Unit (FCU) thermostat wiring and chilled water actuator compatibility check.
• Delivery of a comprehensive, non-binding Bill of Materials (BOM) and transparent fixed-price engineering proposal.

2. Scheduling, Access & Safety

The client agrees to provide safe, authorized access to the residence at the scheduled inspection time. Access must be permitted to electrical distribution cabinets, mechanical FCU access panels, and representative room locations. If access is obstructed by master community security without prior gate pass clearance, an administrative rescheduling fee may apply.

3. Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

Appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled without penalty up to 4 hours prior to the agreed inspection window by contacting our Concierge via WhatsApp or phone. In the event of no-show upon engineer arrival at the premises gate, the diagnostic fee remains payable.

4. Absolute Life-Safety Isolation (Hassantuk / Fire Alarms)

SmartHomeAssist strictly respects UAE Civil Defense standards. Mandatory government life-safety infrastructure — including the Hassantuk wireless fire alarm system, smoke alarms, emergency lighting, and main circuit breaker trips — are left completely untouched as protected, parallel systems. Smart home relays are strictly isolated to non-emergency residential circuits.

5. Hardware Warranty & Open-Source Independence

All hardware deployed by SmartHomeAssist carries full manufacturer warranty (typically 12 to 24 months). Because our architecture is built on open-source Home Assistant, the client holds uninhibited ownership of all local accounts, YAML automations, and hardware credentials. There is no software lock-in, proprietary dealer encryption, or recurring subscription required to operate the home.

6. Limitation of Liability

SmartHomeAssist shall not be held liable for preexisting electrical wiring defects, water damage from unserviced AC drip trays, or utility provider tariff revisions enacted by DEWA, TAQA, or SEWA.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the local laws of the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Dubai Courts.
